Over the years I have helped support many women who have had issues with their periods or who are suffering with symptoms of peri-menopause. It’s an area that really interests me as often Western Medicine offers limited solutions. As a result, I’ve attended a number of additional training courses that focus on women’s health in order to offer effective alternative treatemnts.

I have a toolkit of techniques and treatments that may be able to help you. Treatments can be used alongside HRT. If you are interested in finding out more please contact me as I’m only to happy to answer any questions in an email or by phone call.

My treatments that support period problems and menopause symptoms include:

  • Reflexology
  • Facial Reflexology
  • Facial and Body Gua Sha
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder Technique)
  • Self-care tutorials in Facial Reflexology, Acupressure, Face massage and Gua Sha
  • Dermalux LED Phototherapy

Aftercare advice and self-care facial reflexology or hand reflexology maps are included with treatments.

Peri-menopause and Menopause

I choose to look at this time in a woman’s life as being a Second Spring and aim to support them to positively embrace, rather than fear, the changes that take place. Treatments focus on easing physical and emotional issues, helping women to age naturally but vibrantly and feel confident from the inside out.

Peri-menopause symptoms include:

  • Hot flushes
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Anxiety
  • Mood swings
  • Brain fog
  • Bloating
  • Sore breasts
  • Weight gain
  • Night sweats
  • Changes in libido
  • Headaches
  • Electric shocks
  • Itchy skin
  • Gum issues
  • Digestive issues
  • Sleeping difficulties
  • Dizziness
  • Irregular periods
  • Fatigue
  • Hair loss
  • Memory loss
  • Brittle nails
  • Tight muscles
  • Stress incontinence
  • Osteoporosis

My treatments can help by:

  • Providing relaxation and stress relief by tapping into the nervous system – toning down the sympathetic nervous system – flight or fright - and allowing the parasympathetic nervous system – rest and digest- to engage.
  • Supporting hormonal changes in the body and bringing about balance
  • Allowing time for self-care and making your well-being a priority
  • Bespoke treatment plans – clearly from this huge list of treatments there is not a one size fits all approach. I can tailor treatment plans and self-care maps according to the individual symptoms you are experiencing.

Menopause Treatments

I include a free consultation with every menopause treatment where you are invited to relax with a cup of specially blended Female Harmony tea while we discuss how I can best support you. Your treatment plan will be bespoke to you but to start with, I suggest booking a 90 minute Combined Face, Hands and Foot Reflexology session or a 60 minute Reflexology session to start with.

Period Problems

How well do you know your flow? Did you know that periods aren’t meant to be painful?

Through my work as a Reproflexologist (Fertility Reflexologist) I realised that many women don’t think about their periods until they are trying for a baby. Even though you may not be trying to become pregnant, there may still be issues that you’d like support with. Through my work I have helped women with the following problems:

  • Painful periods
  • Irregular periods
  • Re-establishing a regular cycle after coming off hormonal contraception
  • Heavy periods
  • PCOS
  • Endometriosis
  • Pre-Menstrual Tension
  • Progesterone deficiency

What happens at an appointment

Firstly, I completely understand that you may find it a little embarrassing to talk about your periods.. Please be assured that everything you say is confidential and I have lots of experience of working with woman with all of these problems.

At an initial consultation treatment, you can relax with a specially blended Female Harmony tea while I ask you some questions about your general medical history as well as specific questions about your period. These can include questions such as: How long is your cycle? How long is your period? Heavy or light flow? Do you experience clotting? Do you know if and when you ovulate? Is your period painful? This consultation will help me devise the best treatment plan for you.

As well as offering after care advice, I may also ask that you keep a period tracking chart. This is useful in showing us how certain hormones may be affecting your cycle and helps me to devise a treatment plan for you and your specific symptoms.

After the consultation, you will be able to relax on my heated couch and simply enjoy your treatment!
